- Secondary Suites Registry
Do you have an illegal suite? Selling or buying one in this market, both the seller and buyer must be aware of a few things. The seller needs to disclose (in writing, preferably ON the purchase contract) that the suite is ILLEGAL . Do not mince words, by using phrases like 'it does not conform to the city standards or land use bylaws of today'. Its illegal. The buyer needs to know the city may return and remove or ask them to remove the suite, or comply and make it legal (see online City of Calgary on HOW to do this).
The City has extended the dates until the end of 2021 to register your suite. Click below for more info
