Do you have an illegal suite? Selling or buying one in this market, both the seller and buyer must be aware of a few things. The seller needs to disclose (in writing, preferably ON the purchase contract) that the suite is ILLEGAL . Do not mince words, by using phrases like 'it does not conform to the city standards or land use bylaws of today'. Its illegal.
